Is it weird that my husband has brought up these red lobster biscuits on multiple occasions over the past several years? As someone who has only been to Red Lobster once in my whole life, I wasn’t sure why he wanted these biscuits so bad! We don’t go out much anymore, but I swear whenever the restaurant we go to has good bread, he reminds me how good the biscuits are at Red Lobster.

Since I’ve only been once, and don’t really remember the experience, I didn’t share the same level of excitement when we finally just decided to come up with a recipe for our own. Now that I have made them, and eaten them, I completely understand why! How can you go wrong when you combine Garlic and Cheddar and Biscuits? And then you top with butter? Please, tell me… how could they even remotely be bad?

The best part is that this recipe is so quick. If you have a stand mixer, you can have it all prepped in under 10 minutes and then they take about 15 minutes to bake. You know me, always trying to get things done in under 30 minutes! These are a perfect side dish or appetizer for any weeknight dinner. They are a great party appetizer because everyone is guaranteed to love them! Like I said before, who wouldn’t like a Garlic Cheddar Biscuit? Plus, it’s always better to bring thigs to parties that people can easily throw on their plate! I might even make these biscuits a little smaller for such occasion.

I hate to admit it, but I’ve now made these 3 times in the past 2 months so I could perfect the recipe and eat them all.the.time.

Don’t judge me.

You probably have what you need, but I wanted to make sure you knew what you’d use! I highly recommend a stand mixer…I use mine almost every day! You could definitely use a hand mixer if you don’t have one though!

Tips for Making Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

  • Don’t over mix. You want to mix ingredients until just combined.

  • If you are taking these to a party or gathering for a side or appetizer, you could make the biscuits a little smaller. You definitely don’ have too though! You’d have to adjust the cooking time.

  • The biscuits don’t expand much at all, so I always cook all 15 biscuits on the same 13x18 pan!

Makes: 15 biscuits

Maple Turkey Breakfast Sausage

Prep time:

Cook time:

Total Time:

  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 Sticks of Butter, Unsalted and Melted. Divided into 1 stick and 1/2 stick.
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1 - 8 oz Bag Mild Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp dried Parsley

  1. Preheat the oven to 450.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, melt 1 stick of butter. Put in the microwave in small increments. Usually takes about 45 seconds.
  3. In your mixter, add flour (2 C), baking powder (1 T), sugar (1 T), garlic powder (1 T), and salt (1/2 tsp). Mix until combined, about 10 seconds.
  4. Add in the 1 stick of melted butter and mix until flour is just combined, it is important to not over mix. It takes only about 20 seconds.
  5. Add cheese into bowl and fold together with a rubber scraper.
  6. Scoop 2 Tbsp of dough for each biscuit. They barely expand, so I fit all 15 on a 13x17 baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-17 minutes, the tops should be a light golden brown. You might want to turn the pan 1/2 way through so they cook evenly.
  8. When the biscuits only have a few minutes left, melt the remaining 1/2 stick of butter in a bowl. Then, stir in the dried parsley (1 tsp).
  9. After you remove the biscuits from the oven, brush the butter/parlsey mixture over each biscuit. Then, try not to eat them all :)
